Syracuse hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday at 7:30, here's five things to know about the matchup:
1. BE THERE

2. OLD NORTHEAST RIVALS
Syracuse has played Pitt more than any other program, meeting the Panthers for the 81st time on Saturday. The series dates back over 100 years, with the two schools first meeting in 1916.
'Cuse and Pitt will have met 10 more times than any other Syracuse opponent after Saturday. Penn State (71), Colgate (69), West Virginia (61) and Boston College (58) are the other four of Syracuse's top-five most frequently played foes.
3. FAN INFORMATION
'Cuse on the Quad opens at 4:30 p.m., with the NYE Auto Quad walk to follow at approximately 5:10 p.m. – however fans will want to arrive before that to ensure their spot along the route and beat the team there. Each game will have a collectible NYE Auto Quad Walk game pin this season and they will be distributed beginning at 4:30 p.m. in front of Hendricks Chapel. Be there early to get yours and try to collect all six this season.
The Orange women's basketball (5:30 p.m.) and volleyball (6:15 p.m.) teams will be signing autographs on the quad as well. The Marching Band will perform at 6 p.m. on the Hendricks Chapel Steps.
4. ORANGE CENTRAL WEEKEND
It's Orange Central/Homecoming Weekend in Syracuse. Saturday night's game serves as the centerpiece of a weekend filled with activities for Orange alums returning to campus.
Syracuse is 44-30 all-time on Homecoming Weekend, dating back to 1949. The record does not include 1979, when the University did not sponsor Homecoming due to the construction of the JMA Wireless Dome, or 2020 during the COVID pandemic.
Other exciting athletics events include a top-10 field hockey matchup between the Orange and North Carolina (3 p.m. Friday), volleyball hosting Duke (6 p.m. Friday) and North Carolina (2 p.m. Sunday), and the women's soccer team's regular season home finale at 12 p.m. on Sunday against Boston College. Admission is free at all of those events.

5. VILLARI NEARING NATION'S LEAD
Tight end Dan Villari is fourth nationally with 27 receptions so far this season. He's also rapidly climbing up the Orange tight ends career list. He now has 54 receptions with the Orange, which ranks fifth in school history.
He's two receptions shy of fourth on the list, currently held by Marty Chalk (56). Oronde Gadsden II has the program's career record at 141, nearly 50 ahead of any other 'Cuse tight end.
