SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Orange return home to the Women's Building for a Friday night matchup versus Wake Forest. Syracuse (12-2 overall, 1-1 ACC) is coming off a straight-set victory over Duke. Wake Forest (9-4 overall, 0-2 ACC) has lost both of its ACC matches so far, last losing to Clemson, 3-2, in a five-set battle.
Orange Leaders
Senior outside hitter Polina Shemanova ranks third in the ACC in kills per set (4.31). She is second in kills (220) and service aces (23).Â
Junior Marina Markova ranks first in the ACC and ninth nationally in kills (233), while senior Elena Karakasi leads the ACC in assists with 511.
The Series vs. Wake Forest
This will be the 11th meeting between the Orange and the Demon Deacons. The Orange lead the all-time record 9-1. Syracuse won the last meeting in 2021, 3-0.
The Opponent
Wake Forest ranks first in the ACC in aces per set with 1.87, and second in service aces (84). Deacon setter Andrea Fuentes ranks second in the ACC in assists (468).
