SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest snapped a two-game losing skid against Duke its last time out, securing its eighth win of the year – the most wins in the regular season for the program since 2007. The Demon Deacons are coached by Dave Clawson, who's in his sixth year at the helm. Clawson came to Wake Forest from Bowling Green, where he was the predecessor to Dino Babers. Clawson is 126-118 as a collegiate head coach and 36-38 at Wake Forest.
Â
Jamie Newman took over the quarterbacking duties from Sam Hartman following last season's loss to Syracuse and has led the Demon Deacons to an 11-4 record as the starter. Newman has been without his top target for the last two games and will be again on Saturday. Wide receiver Sage Surratt – who leads the ACC in receiving yards per game and receiving TDs despite playing just nine games – suffered a season-ending injury at Virginia Tech on Nov. 9.
Â
Receiver Kendall Hinton, who also missed two games due to injury this year, ranks fifth in the ACC with 59 receptions.
Defensively, cornerback Amari Henderson is tied for the ACC lead with four interceptions and end Carlos Basham Jr. tops the conference with 16.5 tackles for loss, including 10 sacks.

The 107-point shootout marked the highest scoring game in Dome history.
Â
