Volleyball Hosts Boston College In ACC Opener

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After a nine-match road trip, the Syracuse women's volleyball team returns home to face Boston College Wednesday, Sep. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Women's Building. The matchup is the ACC opener for both sides.

Coach's Thoughts:
"The girls are excited to be home," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "It's been three weeks since our last home match and I believe the girls will be pumped up to play in our conference opener."

Series History:
The Orange hold a 29-10 all-time mark over Boston College. The two teams split the season series last year, with each team winning at home. Syracuse opened up ACC play in 2015 and 2016 with victories over Boston College.

The Orange:
'Cuse enters the match with an 8-5 mark on the year. Santita Ebangwese leads Syracuse in kills (119) and blocks (64). Annie Bozzo has tallied a team-high 271 assists and Belle Sand has recorded a team-leading 146 digs.

Scouting the Eagles:
Boston College has accumulated a 3-7 record this season. Cat Balido paces the Eagles attack with 145 kills. Jane DeJarld has a team-high 266 assists, Jill Strockis leads BC with 154 digs and Ally Mullen has a team-leading 31 blocks.

Of Note:
Sand currently ranks seventh all-time in program history with 1,226 career digs. She is seven digs behind Kacie MacTavish for the number six spot.
