SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With aspirations of making the BIG EAST Tournament, the Syracuse University volleyball team (17-11, 6-6) hosts DePaul and Notre Dame in the final weekend of the regular season at the Women's Building.
The Orange is currently sixth in the conference standings, but teams six through nine all have a conference mark of 6-6. Syracuse, Seton Hall, USF, Georgetown and Pittsburgh (6-7) will vie for the final three spots in the eight team tournament.
SU and DePaul (7-20, 3-9) square off on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The Orange is 6-2 all-time against the Blue Demons and will look to avenge a loss last season in Chicago.
Syracuse will then recognize its three seniors on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. against Notre Dame (15-9, 8-4). Noemie Lefebvre, Erin Little and Ashley Williams will play the final home game of their careers against the Fighting Irish. The three have helped SU to an overall record of 78-46 in their four years and with a win would beat Notre Dame for their first time.
NOEMIE LEFEBVRE is one of six players in Syracuse volleyball history to record 1,000 kills and digs in a career. Lefebvre reached both milestones this season. She will graduate with the fourth most digs in program history as well.
ERIN LITTLE has tallied 414 kills in 89 career matches while at Syracuse. Earlier this season, Little earned her first career BIG EAST weekly honor for reaching double-digit kills in three straight matches and leading SU to a 3-0 record.
ASHLEY WILLIAMS has put together the best season of her career and one of the best seasons ever at the libero positions. Williams has 500 digs this season which is the seventh most in a single-season at Syracuse. With 67 more digs, she would move into second place on the single-season digs list. Williams also ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with a 4.95 digs per set average.
Sunday's match with Notre Dame will be broadcasted live on Orange All Access.
