SU Defeats Washington State, 3-1

DENVER, COLO. – Freshman Jen Malcom tied the SU four-game record for total blocks with 13, as she made two solo blocks and 11 blocks assists to help the Orange volleyball team to a 3-1 win against Washington State (3-7). SU is now 10-1 on the season, after winning the match, 30-27, 30-19, 16-30 and 30-15.
Senior Morgan Jones notched a team leading 14 kills on 39 attempts, and junior Aila Dommestrup had 43 assists, nine digs and three service aces. Junior Kelly Duan had her third double-double of the season with 11 kills and 13 digs. Freshman Joscie Kaup led the defense with 19 digs.
For Washington State, setter Nicole Martin had a double-double with 45 assists and 11 digs. Stacey Holbrook had 26 digs, and Kelly Rosin had 22 kills for the Cougars.
The Orange plays its final game of the Denver Tournament at 7:00 p.m. EDT against Radford.
