Volleyball Wins Ninth-Straight With 3-0 Sweep of Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Orange volleyball team won its ninth-straight match on Sunday, Oct. 31, with a 3-0 sweep of Georgetown. This is SU’s third-straight 3-0 win, and ties its longest winning streak this season. Syracuse (22-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) defeated the Hoyas (13-12, 1-6 BIG EAST) by scores of 30-28, 30-22 and 30-20.
Junior Kelly Duan led Syracuse with 17 kills on 43 attacks and nine digs. Junior Aila Dommestrup recorded 33 assists, and freshman Jen Malcom added nine kills and five total blocks.
Rachel Nelson paced Georgetown with 12 kills and 16 digs, while Jenny Weed and Ashley Lancaster contributed 10 kills apiece. Kate Fisher had a team-high 24 assists.
Syracuse returns home for a match against Boston College on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
