
Volleyball Loses to Boston College, 3-2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Syracuse volleyball team lost its only BIG EAST contest of the weekend, 3-2, to Boston College on Sunday. The Orangewomen won games two and four, before losing game five, 15-13. SU is now 16-11 overall and 3-4 in the BIG EAST.
Sophomore Kelly Duan recorded 21 kills on 54 attempts, and completed the double-double with 10 digs. She also recorded five assists and five block assists. Junior Morgan Jones recorded 16 kills on 50 attempts, and sophomore Jessica Logan finished with 14 kills on 36 attempts with just two errors for a .333 hitting percentage. Sophomore Kristen Conway recorded eight kills, nine digs and a team-high eight total blocks. Sophomore Aila Dommestrup posted 50 assists, nine digs and three service aces. Senior libero Christen Casey finished with 20 digs, and senior Michaela Skelly had 10 digs.
Alison Shepp led the Eagles with 16 kills on 31 attempts with no errors for a .516 hitting percentage. Morgan Woodcock had 16 kills on 38 attempts as well as eight total blocks. Dorota Niemczewska had 19 kills on 49 attempts and four block assists. Allison Anderson recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs. Liz Aron finished with 22 digs. Verena Rost had 60 assists and eight digs.
The Orangewomen return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for a BIG EAST match against Notre Dame. The first serve will be at 7:00 p.m.
