
Orange Volleyball Shuts Out Providence, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Syracuse volleyball team shut out Providence, 30-25, 30-15, 30-26, in a non-conference match on Saturday, Oct. 25. Syracuse improves to 16-10 on the season, and Providence is now 3-21.
Freshman Erin McQuillin continued her hot streak, hitting .500 on eight kills on 12 attempts with just two errors. Sophomore Jessica Logan posted an error-free performance on eight kills and 17 attacks for a .471 hitting percentage. Sophomore Kristen Conway recorded a team-best 13 kills on 33 attempts and six digs. Sophomores Kathryn Dercher and Aila Dommestrup split setting duties, with Dercher recording 22 assists and Dommestrup finishing with 15. Sophomore Kelly Duan had seven kills and three service aces, and senior Michaela Skelly recorded three aces.
Ayana Cadres led the Friars with 13 kills on 37 attempts. Allison Baker finished with 11 kills on 30 attempts and eight digs. Kerry Schulz had eight kills and eight digs. Annie Fiorvanti posted 25 assists.
The Orangewomen finish their road swing in Chestnut Hill, Mass., where they will take on Boston College in a BIG EAST match on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 5:00 p.m.
