
Volleyball Loses To Western Michigan in Five Games

The Orangewomen lost to Western Michigan, 3-2, in the first match of the Radisson Invitational on Friday afternoon at University Arena.
Western Michigan (3-7) edged Syracuse (9-2) in the fifth and deciding game, 16-14. SU won the second and fourth games both by scores of 31-29 to force a final game.
Freshman Jessica Logan (Bloomington, IL) led the Orangewomen with 10 kills. Senior co-captain Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) and sophomore Rachel Crooks (Green Springs, OH/Clyde) followed with nine kills each. Van Mater added a team-high five blocks. Western Michigan was strong at the net, outblocking Syracuse, 16-6.
Junior Michaela Skelly (Simi Valley, CA/Royal) recorded a double-double with 18 assists and 18 digs. Junior co-captain Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) joined Skelly in double figures with 10 digs.
Syracuse faces South Florida today at 4:30 p.m. in University Arena.
