
Orangewomen Win Doubleheader Against Niagara And Canisius

Niagara Boxscore> BUFFALO, NY - The Syracuse University women’s volleyball team defeated Niagara and Canisius in a doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 20. The Orangewomen (16-8, 2-4 BIG EAST) defeated Niagara, 3-1, in the first match and then won in five games against Canisius.
Sophomore Morgan Jones (Malad, ID/Malad) recorded a career-high 24 kills in the 3-2 victory against Canisius. Jones tied a personal best with 46 attacks. Freshman Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic)posted 22 kills on 50 attempts with four errors for a .360 attack percentage. Conway also recorded a career high with 27 digs.
Setter Aila Dommestrup (Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden) dished out a personal-best 53 assists in the Canisius match. Freshman Kathryn Dercher (Weatherby Lake, MO/Park Hill) recorded 10 digs and dished out 10 assists.
