
Orangewomen Volleyball Defeat Siena, 3-0

LOUDONVILLE, NY - Senior co-captain Noreen Carroll (La Grange, IL/Lyons Township) and freshman Laura Koster (Houston, TX/Westfield) each recorded double-doubles to lead the Syracuse volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at Siena on Wednesday night. SU increased its overall record to 10-9, while Siena stands at 13-6.
The Orangewomen hit .252 as a team, compared to Siena’s -.049. Carroll notched her sixth double-double of the season with 34 assists and 10 digs. With her three games played, Carroll is currently tied for 10th on SU’s all-time games played list with 425. Koster tallied 12 kills on 21 attempts with one error for a career-high .524 attack percentage, and she also chipped in 11 digs. Senior co-captain Carol Munger (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) had nine kills and moved into 10th place on Syracuse’s career kills list with 636.
Syracuse outblocked Siena, 10-2. Carroll and junior Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) each recorded five total blocks. Sophomore Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) collected 11 digs and tied a career high with four service aces.
Syracuse returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 23 when it hosts Colgate at the Women’s Building.
