Orange Open Home Slate Against Arkansas

The Syracuse volleyball team continues their 2026 campaign against Arkansas in the ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net match on Sept. 9, the game will stream on ACCNX at 6:00 p.m. ET.

LET'S GET THE BALL ROLLING

Syracuse Volleyball will continue its season with the ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net match against Arkansas.
The Orange got rolling in its non-conference schedule in 2025, starting 8-2 on the year. The Orange also won all three tournaments that they competed in during the non-conference slate.
Syracuse will play a nine-match slate of non-conference matches before rolling into ACC-play during late September.

ORANGE OUT

Tonight's ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net match against Arkansas is an Orange Out, with fans encouraged to wear orange.

WE'RE SET

Freshman Setter Charis Burge has had an impressive start to her collegiate career so far for the Orange.
In her first collegiate weekend against Cincinnati and Illinois, Burge tallied 25 assists against the Bearcats, followed by 24 assists against Illinois.
Burge followed up the opening-weekend performance with three consecutive 20-plus assist matches in the Cornell Invite, with 22 and 25 assists respectively in sweeps over Howard and UAlbany, and 50 assists in a five-set win over the hosts, Cornell.
Burge was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Cornell Invite.

DIG THIS

Syracuse builds its libero and defensive specialist room around graduate Anna Smith, freshman Queen Howse and sophomore Yuka Urano.
Smith, from Charleston, S.C., spent three seasons at Coastal Carolina before graduating early to continue her career.
Howse, a freshman from Brentwood, Tenn., joins the Orange after a standout career at Brentwood High School, being named to the TSSAA First Team All-District and All-Region while adding AVCA All-Region awards as a senior.
Urano, a sophomore from Tokyo, Japan recorded 502 digs and 142 assists in the 2025 season playing for Navarro College.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS

Syracuse Volleyball will face Arkansas for just the third time in both teams history as part of the ACC/SEC Showdown at the Net.
Arkansas finished last year at 5-22 and went 1-14 in SEC conference play.
Senior Opposite Hitter Romani Thurman leads the Razorbacks with 49 kills while Sophomore Outside Hitter Parker Duncan is right behind with 48 kills.
Kiki Remensperger facilitates the offense, notching 176 assists and 10.35 assists per set to start the season.
