Syracuse Hosts Clemson, Georgia Tech in Weekend Homestand

Syracuse volleyball (13-9, 5-7 ACC) will meet Clemson and Georgia Tech for a set of home matches at the Women's Building as the Orange continue to move through their ACC schedule.

The weekend starts with Clemson on Friday night at 6:00 PM, followed by a Sunday afternoon match against Georgia Tech at 1:00 PM. The Orange are currently 5-7 in conference play after road match losses against Florida State and #15 Miami.

SCOUTING CLEMSON

Clemson comes to Syracuse sitting at 2-10 in ACC play thus far.
The Tigers are coming off a win, taking down Virginia on the road to finish their weekend.
Mia McGrath leads the offensive attack, posting 259 kills this season.
Clemson has handled the serve well this year, holding opponents to just 100 aces this year.
The Tigers flourished in non-conference play, going 12-0 before starting their ACC slate.
Syracuse leads the all-time series, 13-5.

SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH

The Yellow Jackets come to Syracuse boasting a 7-5 record in ACC play and continue to receive votes in the AVCA Top-25 poll.
The Georgia Tech offense is efficient, swinging for a .235 hitting percentage this season, the seventh-best mark in the conference.
DeAndra Pierce has been strong for the Yellow Jackets, recording 125 kills to go with a .411 hitting percentage.
Sofia Velez is among the ACC's top defensive players, averaging 3.85 digs per set which is the seventh most in the ACC
Georgia Tech leads the all-time series, 11-6

LEADING BY EXAMPLE

The 2025 captains, Gabby McLaughlin and Tehya Maeva, have led the way for the Orange both on and off the court.
McLaughlin finds herself in the top five of all ACC players this year in total kills, racking up 322 thus far.
Maeva has distributed a good portion of those kills, ranking sixth in the conference with 747 total assists this season.
Maeva set a new single-match career high last weekend with six aces against Miami.
McLaughlin has not missed a beat since starting conference play, leading all Syracuse players with 177 kills -- the seventh most by any player since starting ACC-play.

$KY MONEY!

Skylar George has been a force on the outside for the Orange, ranking second on the team in kills with 230.
Since beginning ACC play, the Texan has posted eight double-digit kill performances, including tying a season high with 18 against Virginia (10/5).
George has come up in big moments all season long for the Orange, including a set-sealing block against Boston College to force a fifth set -- one in which the Orange would go on to win.

FIRST-CLASS SERVICE

Syracuse has been very efficient in the serve-receive department, recording 136 aces thus far while holding opponents to just 115.
The Orange kept it rolling this past weekend, recording 15 over the course of eight sets in matches against Florida State and #15 Miami.
The Orange have recorded double-digit aces four times this season and most recently in the 3-1 win over Notre Dame (9/26).
Syracuse recorded a season-high 13 aces in the win over St. John's (9/20).
Maeva leads the way with 23 aces this year.
Maeva's six aces against Miami last weekend was the most by a Syracuse player since 2023 when Zharia Harris-Waddy posted six.

NOT IN OUR HOUSE

The Syracuse defense has held opponents to a .200 hitting percentage this season, good for a top 10 mark in the conference.
The Orange have held opponents to a hitting percentage under .200 in 11 matches thus far.
Furthermore, Syracuse has kept opponents under .100 on four occasions this season.
The defense averages 14.48 digs per set, good for the fifth highest mark in the ACC.
