Orange Head to Sunshine State for Pair of ACC Matches

Syracuse volleyball (13-7, 5-5 ACC) travels to the Sunshine State this weekend for a pair of ACC matches against Florida State and #15 Miami as the Orange look to build momentum in the second half of conference play.

Syracuse faces Florida State on Friday at 6:30 PM before taking on #15 Miami on Sunday at noon. The Orange sit at an even 5-5 in ACC play after splitting last week's home-and-home series with Boston College, rebounding from a sweep loss with a thrilling five-set victory.

OFFENSIVE LEADERS CONTINUE TO PRODUCE

Gabriella McLaughlin leads Syracuse with 294 kills through 20 matches at 3.92 per set.
McLaughlin has been consistent in conference play with 149 kills, the third-most in the ACC since league matches began.
She recorded 22 kills in last week's five-set win over Boston College, one shy of her season high.
Skylar George provides a complementary offensive threat with 209 kills on the season at 3.17 per set.

MAEVA RUNNING THE SHOW

Setter Tehya Maeva continues her career year with 681 assists at 9.33 per set.
Maeva set a new career high with 54 assists against Boston College last week.
Her 346 assists in conference play rank eighth among all ACC setters.
The junior has recorded at least one kill in 11 of her last 12 matches, adding offensive versatility.
Maeva ranks third on the team with 170 digs and has contributed 27.0 blocks.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

Rana Yamada leads the Orange with 266 digs at 3.55 per set.
Yamada posted a season-high 25 digs in the win over Boston College.
Syracuse holds opponents to a .190 hitting percentage, seventh-best in the ACC.
The Orange average 14.80 digs per set, third-highest in the conference.
Soana Lea'ea has recorded at least one block in every match this season and posted a season-high 10 blocks against Boston College.

LEA'EA DOMINATES AT THE NET

Middle blocker Soana Lea'ea has been a force defensively with 62.0 total blocks.
Lea'ea recorded 10 blocks in last week's win over Boston College, her highest total of the season.
She posted three solo blocks against North Carolina earlier this month.
The graduate student adds offensive punch with 115 kills at 1.53 per set.

EFFICIENT SERVICE GAME

Syracuse has recorded 121 aces while allowing just 102 from opponents.
Reese Teves leads the Orange with 21 aces this season.
Rana Yamada has contributed 18 aces from the libero position.
The Orange have posted double-digit aces in four matches this season.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE

Florida State enters at 11-8 overall and 5-5 in ACC play.
The Seminoles have won three straight matches over Cal, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Iane Henke leads Florida State's attack with 4.63 kills per set.
Kyleene Filimaua has been hot recently with 54 kills over the last three matches, including 25 against Cal.
Florida State leads the all-time series 17-0.
Syracuse has never defeated the Seminoles in program history.

SCOUTING #15 MIAMI

Miami sits at 17-4 overall and 7-3 in ACC play, ranked #15 nationally.
