
'Cuse Names Beyer Spirit Program Coordinator

A 15-year coaching veteran, Francesca Beyer is Syracuse University's new Spirit Program Coordinator. Beyer, who has served as the SU Blue Cheer head coach since May 2019 and the SU interim Orange head coach since August 2021, has coached at all levels of the sport, including college, high school and Pop Warner. As Syracuse's head coach she is responsible for managing approximately 70 student-athletes within three spirit squads, coaching the "Orange" and "Blue" cheer teams, supervising support and oversight to the Orange Dancers and supervises a part-time coaching staff. In addition, she provides ongoing support and communication with the Syracuse Mascot program.Â

Beyer began her coaching career in 2004 as a volunteer Pop Warner coach in the Fayetteville-Manlius program. Â In 2008 she became the modified coach at Seton Catholic for one year and in 2012 took over the modified program at Churchville-Chili High School for two years. In 2017 she became an all-star coach and tumble instructor at Core Athletix where she teaches and trains proper tumble techniques through all levels and manages teams of athletes from various areas around Syracuse. Beyer also serves as the varsity head coach at Liverpool High School, where she has coached since 2018. Her Liverpool teams won Section III Grand Championships in 2019 and 2021 and won multiple first place finishes at local, national and regional championships. In 2019 and 2021 her teams earned Top 10 New York State D1 Small Varsity recognition.

Beyer's management experience includes working as an account manager, brand manager, fashion specialist, and customer experience manager for Varsity All Star since 2014. She has served as the Varsity All Star director for the D2 Summit in Orlando, Fla. since 2020. Beyer earned her degree in psychology from St. John Fisher College in 2009.
