SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse volleyball team will play in the Cy-Hawk Series Tournament as the Orange face Iowa, Iowa State, and Ball State in a six-match round robin format from September 9th through 11th at the Xtream Arena. 'Cuse opens the tournament against Iowa on the Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by a Friday matchup against Iowa State at 5 p.m. The Orange will conclude the tournament with a match against a currently undefeated Ball State team on Saturday at 12 p.m. Fans are welcome to attend in full capacity. The match against Iowa will be streamed on BTN+.

Making Her Mark-ova
Junior Marina Markova was named Co-ACC Player of the Week after her standout performance at the Yale Invitational. For the second invite in a row, she was named tournament MVP. Markova tallied a career high 21 kills in the match versus Yale. Across all three matches, she earned 48 kills, 21 digs, six total blocks, and four service aces. She recorded a .440 hitting average. She ranks first in the ACC in kills per set (4.50), points (106.5), total kills (90), and points per set (5.33). Her points per set number ranks 13th nationally.
Coaching Success
Head coach Leonid Yelin has led the Orange to a 6-0 start, which is the best during his Syracuse tenure that started in 2012. The last team he led to six wins to start a season was Louisville in 2005. The Cardinals finished that season with a 31-3 record and advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals.
