SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse lost its Atlantic Coast Conference opener at Boston College, 3-1. Senior Polina Shemanova led the Orange with 17 kills, while junior Marina Markova added 15. Senior Elena Karakasi had 29 assists and freshman Peyton O'Brien had 12.
"Boston college just had better ball control," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "It was impossible for us to generate any kind of offense. We will go and take tonight, rest and recharge, then go from there."
After the Orange lost the first set to the Eagles, 25-17, they came back to win set two, 25-22. BC then won the third and fourth sets to win the match.
