SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange volleyball team won back-to-back matches to begin the 2021 season, beating Buffalo, 3-2, and Connecticut, 3-0, on Friday at the Women's Building. It marks the second year in a row that the Orange won a pair of season-opening matches at home. In 2020-21, the Orange swept then-defending ACC Champion Pittsburgh on back-to-back days.
"We all know the first match was not the way we would have liked to play, and there is still work to do," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "Nobody is going to be perfect right off the bat. We have room to get better and we all know that. It's not like we were crazy disappointed after the first match, it's not like we are crazy excited about the second match. We know what we have to do to do better."
Syracuse will play Albany on Saturday, August 28th at 7 p.m. in the Women's Building. Admission to Orange volleyball matches is free. All fans attending games must adhere to Syracuse University's COVID-19 policy, which can be found here.
