Student-Athletes Ready to Celebrate Graduation
5/21/2021 5:18:00 PM | General, Academics
Nearly 200 Syracuse University student-athletes will trade their uniforms with a Block S for a cap and gown this weekend as they celebrate their graduation. The 167th Syracuse University Commencement ceremonies will feature 192 student-athletes, including 138 earning their undergraduate degrees and 54 earning master's degrees. Student-athletes from each of Syracuse's 20 teams will graduate from nine of Syracuse's schools and colleges, and from the Graduate School, in 73 different fields of study. The same student-athletes led their teams to success in 2020-21, with 13 earning postseason invitations.
The student-athletes earning their degrees today have helped leave a lasting legacy on Syracuse, winning six conference championships on the field. The group also helped to lead Syracuse Athletics through the COVID-19 pandemic, which included the cancellation of the 2020 winter sports postseason and all of the spring sports seasons.
