SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Pascal Bastien of the men's track and field team and Marisa Romeo of the women's basketball team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
A senior from Baldwin, N.Y., Bastien is pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer engineering with a minor in engineering and computer science management. Bastien is a three-time member of the 2016-17 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll and has been tabbed to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in six consecutive semesters.
Bastien competes as a jumper for the Orange, primarily focusing on the Long Jump and the Triple Jump, while also running the 300m and the 400m. He placed 18 in the Long Jump (6.60m) at the ACC Championships in 2017 and finished in fourth place in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 9:40.34.

Romeo has appeared in four games for the Orange this season, tallying her first collegiate rebound against Morgan State on Nov. 10. The graduate student notched her first career point on a layup in the Orange's 75-57 win over Boston College on Jan. 28.
Bastien and the track and field team are back in action this weekend at the Harvard Crimson Elite and the BU Bruce Lehane Invite, while Romeo and the women's basketball team host a pair of home contests against Virginia Tech and Louisville on Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 4 at 1 p.m., respectively. Both basketball games will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
