Bastien, Porlier Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Laurence Porlier of the women's ice hockey team and Pascal Bastien of the men's track and field team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Porlier is a senior majoring in supply chain management in Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
The Maria, Quebec native has played in every game for the Orange this season and has two goals, including a game-winner against Penn State on Jan. 14. Porlier also has two assists on the season, giving her four points for the year.
Porlier and the ice hockey team take on Rochester Institute of Technology this weekend in a home-and-home series. Friday's contest will be played in Rochester, while Saturday's game will take place in Syracuse and will be Senior Day for the five-member Orange senior class. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. for that game.
Bastien is a junior computer engineering major with an engineering and computer science management minor.
The Baldwin, N.Y. native has had three top 10 finishes during the indoor season in the 400-meter and the long jump events.
Bastien and the men's track and field team will participate in the Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 18 hosted by Cornell.
