SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse volleyball team heads down south this weekend to North Carolina, facing ACC rivals Duke on Friday at 11 a.m. and Wake Forest on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Orange look to pick up its second and third consecutive victories against the Blue Devils and the Demon Deacons coming off of a split weekend, falling to North Carolina in four sets while picking up a win against NC State in four. The Orange remain sixth in the ACC standings, posting a 9-5 conference record and an 18-7 overall record.

PREVIEWING DUKE (13-11, 8-6 ACC)
This will be the fifth meeting between the Orange and the Blue Devils, with Duke leading the series 4-0. The Blue Devils defeated the Orange in three sets this past season at home in the Women's Building. Duke currently falls two spots behind 'Cuse, ranking eighth in the ACC standings.

Senior outside hitter Emily Sklar leads the Blue Devils with 274 kills so far on the season and ranks fourth in the ACC, averaging 3.91 kills per set. Duke currently leads the ACC in digs per set (17.01). Junior Sasha Karelov ranks first in the conference with 4.91 digs per set and third in the conference with 427 total digs.

The Blue Devils are coming off of a split weekend, falling to Georgia Tech in three sets while sweeping Clemson in three.

PREVIEWING WAKE FOREST (11-15, 3-11 ACC)
This will be the third overall matchup between the Orange and the Demon Deacons, with Syracuse leading the series 2-0. The squads most recently met last season with the Orange coming out on top in a three-set victory in the Women's Building.

Sophomore outside hitter Kylie Long leads the Deacons on the season in kills, with 359. Sophomore libero Caroline Wolf ranks third in the ACC in digs, averaging 4.80 digs per set, while junior middle blocker Hanna Lee stands fourth in the conference in aces per set with 0.36.

The Deacons have posted ACC wins over Virginia, Notre Dame, and Clemson so far on the season.
QUICK DIGS
- Syracuse currently ranks first in the nation in total blocks, totaling 300.5 on the 2015 season.
- With seven players six feet or taller and the team's setter at 5-11, the Orange also rank second in the ACC and fourth in the nation in blocks per set (3.07).
- Freshman Santita Ebangwese was named the ACC Freshman of the Week (11/9) after her performances against UNC and NC State. The middle blocker notched a career-high 12 blocks against the Wolfpack.
- Senior outside hitter Nicolette Serratore registered her 1,000th career kill in the team's 3-1 win against NC State (11/8).
- The duo of sophomore Leah Levert and freshman Santita Ebangwese lead the Orange at the net, with both of them being ranked nationally in the blocks per set and total blocks categories.
- Levert ranks 25th in the nation and third in the ACC in blocks per set (1.37). Levert has totaled 130 blocks on the season so far, putting her at 15th in the nation and first in the ACC in total blocks. Ebangwese ranks fourth in the conference with 119 total blocks.
- Senior outside hitter Silvi Uattara sits atop of the attack list for the Orange, totaling 272 kills on the season so far. The ACC Player of the Week (8/31) ranks 10th in single-season kills at SU with 425, achieved during the 2013 season.
