SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Orange volleyball team (9-10, 1-2) will host conference foe Pittsburgh (10-9, 1-4) on Sunday afternoon in the Women's Building.
ORANGE TOPS USF IN CLOSE FIVE SET MATCH:
The Orange picked up the first conference win of the season against USF on Friday afternoon in the Women's Building. Outside hitter Silvi Uattara led the team to victory with 25 kills against the Bulls.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT:
After falling to Cincinnati and Louisville last weekend, the Panthers slipped to eleventh in the BIG EAST weekly standings. Alexis Campbell will likely lead the Pittsburgh offensive attack, as she leads the team with 136 kills, averaging 2.27 kills per set. Libero Margy Acton will be at the helm of the defense, as she has notched 1,188 career kills, averaging 5.22 kills per set in 2012.
UP NEXT:
The Orange will be back in action next weekend, traveling to Rutgers and Seton Hall. SU will take on Rutgers at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, before facing Seton Hall on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. in the Walsh Gymnasium.
