CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Kuba Kotynia continued to impress on day two of the NIKE Cup in the Koury Natatorium at the University of North Carolina. Kotynia finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke final with a time of 55.61.
Kotynia made his mark among the nation's best in the 100-yard breaststroke final after qualifying with a fourth-place finish in the preliminary swim (55.92). Sophomore Chad Flanick joined Kotynia in the preliminary, finishing 35th with a mark of 1:02.12.
Senior Brian Zimmerman rounded out the men's competitors, touching the wall at 54.35 in the 100-yard butterfly.
On the women's side, senior Stephanie Lefebvre-Kuczynski posted a 36th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.01), while classmate Alice Stejskal was close behind at 1:10.70. Freshman Marykate McBride swam a time of 1:04.97 in the 100-yard butterfly, while junior Chelsea Bryan (2:04.42) and senior Katie Lewinski (2:07.59) represented the Orange in the 200-yard freestyle.
The Orange concludes its NIKE Cup competition tomorrow.
