Syracuse-Cornell Series
Syracuse holds a commanding, 27-9-1 lead in the all-time series with Cornell, which dates back to 1974. The two teams last met almost a year ago in Ithaca, N.Y., where the Orange cruised to a 3-0 victory. In last year's match the Orange was dominant at the net defensively, posting 12 total blocks to Cornell's three. Sophomore Erin Little, junior Hayley Todd and senior Kacie MacTavish all recorded eight kills each to lead the team.
Scouting the Big Red
Cornell is still finding its rhythm on the young season under the direction of first-year head coach Sarah Bernson, who previously served five seasons as the program's assistant coach. Rookie outside hitter Deveney Pula has been the breakout player of the season for Cornell, leading the team with 60 kills and earning all-tournament honors in two of three tournaments. The Big Red also have three-time All-Ivy League libero Megan Mushovic leading the back row with 124 digs.
