SU Swimming Excels In Classroom

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange men's and women's swimming and diving programs were both recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their outstanding work in the classroom during the spring semester with Team Scholar All-America honors.
The SU women's squad achieved a team GPA of 3.20 and was one of 110 Division I women's programs honored by the organization. The Orange men tied for 13th out of 58 Division I schools, posting a team GPA of 3.25.
The Syracuse men tied for second with Georgetown for the best showing among BIG EAST programs. The Notre Dame men took that honor with a 3.36 team GPA.
On an individual level, rising junior Kuba Kotynia was rewarded with Division I Honorable Mention Scholar All-America status. Kotynia owns an overall GPA of 3.96 in computer science and achieved a 4.0 during the spring semester. Kotynia set Orange school records in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke at the BIG EAST Championship.
