
Taraskin Leads Orange at Bucknell Open

Senior Alex Taraskin led the Orange at the Bucknell Open, finishing seventh in both the 100-yard freestyle (46.95) and 50-yard freestyle (21.36). The Syracuse men finished seventh overall with 86 points while the women earned a sixth-place finish with 75 points.
Junior Stephanie Lefebvre-Kuczynski was the top finisher for the women, placing 12th in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.75) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.03). Lefebvre-Kuczynski also competed in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a 25.48.
Junior Katie Lewinski and sophomore Chelsea Bryan also represented the Syracuse women. Lewinski finished 20th overall in the 50-yard freestyle with a 25.77 while Bryan turned in a 56.79 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Senior Ben Santerre represented SU in the 500-yard freestyle, earning an eighth-place finish with a 4:51.05 while placing 11th with a 16:49.18 in the 1650-yard freestyle.
The Orange is back in the pool on January 3, when it travels to Puerto Rico for semester break competition.
