SU Volleyball Sweeps West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Sophomore Cheryl Cobbina tied her career high with 15 kills to lead the Orange to a 3-0 (32-30, 30-22, 30-25) sweep of BIG EATS foe West Virginia this afternoon. Cobbina was one of three SU players that recorded more than 10 kills.
Seniors Kristen Conway and Kelly Duan contributed with 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Conway also totaled 14 digs defensively. Senior Aila Dommestrup dished out 49 assists in the win, while sophomore Joscie Kaup had a match-high 16 digs.
For the Mountaineers (13-7, 2-4 BIG EAST), Abby Tevis was the only player to notch double-digit kills with 14. Kailee Goold registered 36 assists and 14 digs, while Aurora Ebert-Santos added 10 digs.
SU is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 11, when it hosts a pair of teams. At 4:00 p.m., SU faces Buffalo, and then takes on Cornell late in the evening at 7:30 p.m.
