
Volleyball Loses Second Match of the Season

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Syracuse volleyball team lost only its second match of the season, 3-2, Saturday morning to Northeastern in the opening match of the Sheraton/Penn Invitational. Syracuse is now 12-2 on the season, as Northeastern improved to 6-6.
The Orange came out and won the first game, 30-16, but then dropped the next two games, 29-31 and 25-30. SU was able to fight to win the fourth game, 30-19, and force the match into a fifth game. Northeastern was able to edge the Orange, 17-15, to win the match.
Three Syracuse players recorded double-doubles. Juniors Aila Dommestrup recorded 51 assists and had 11 digs, Kelly Duan led the team in both kills (27) and digs (15), and Kristen Conway made 19 kills and 12 digs.
Syracuse continues action in the Sheraton/Penn Invitational at 5:30 p.m. against St. Francis.
