
Orangewomen Close Season With 3-0 Loss To Miami

CORAL GABLES, FL - The Syracuse University women’s volleyball team finished its 2002 season with a 3-0 loss to Miami on Sunday afternoon in Knight Complex.
Syracuse ended its season with a record of 19-12 and 5-8 in the BIG EAST, while Miami stands at 24-4 and 10-3 in the conference.
Miami hit .294 as a team, compared to SU’s .200 attack percentage.
Sophomore Morgan Jones (Malad, ID/Malad) led the Orangewomen with 11 kills on 24 attempts with one error for match-high .417 attack percentage. Jessica Logan (Bloomington, IL/Bloomington) followed with 10 kills.
Freshman Kelly Duan (Baotou City, China/Zhong Shan University) and junior Michaela Skelly (Simi Valley, Ca/Royal) each recorded 11 digs. Senior co-captain Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) posted a match-high six total blocks (one solo, five assists).
Marcela Gamarra and Valeria Tipiana led Miami with 16 and 15 kills, respectively.
