
Hoyas Defeat Orangewomen, 3-1

WASHINGTON, DC - The Georgetown University women’s volleyball team defeated Syracuse, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in McDonough Gym.
The Hoyas (13-8, 4-2 BIG EAST) combined for a .362 attack percentage, compared to SU’s .107. GU also outblocked Syracuse, 11 to 6.
Freshman Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) led Syracuse (13-8, 2-4 BIG EAST) with 18 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Morgan Jones (Malad, ID/Malad) joined Conway in double figures with 13 kills. Junior co-captain Christen Casey (Long Beach, IN/Marquette) led the defense with 10 digs, and freshman Aila Dommestrup (Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden) dished out 25 assists.
Lauren Warner led Georgetown with 22 kills and 15 digs. Sara Albert posted 14 kills on 17 attempts with no hitting errors for a .824 attack percentage. She also chipped in 10 total blocks.
Syracuse returns home to face Siena on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Women’s Building.
