A Letter to Our Former Athletes
As a former Syracuse women’s basketball student-athlete and a proud member of the Class of 2020, I know firsthand how impactful the Syracuse University experience can be. While I only spent my graduate year at Syracuse, my time as both an athlete and a student in the David B. Falk School left an unforgettable mark on my life. I am excited and honored to now serve as the Associate Director of Development for Former Student-Athlete Engagement within Syracuse Athletics. I have had the privilege of leading the re-brand and revitalization of our Syracuse Varsity Club, now called the Block S Club. Our mission is simple: to foster a community where former student-athletes feel supported, appreciated, and connected to one another long after they leave the university.
I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Jeffrey Bastable '69 G'73 and Sean Ellis '09, two former Presidents of the Syracuse Varsity Club, for their invaluable insight into the history and importance of our former student-athlete community. Their guidance has been instrumental in helping me shape the Block S Club into what it is today and what it will become in the years to follow.
As a former SU student-athlete, I understand the unique drive and ambition that comes with wearing Orange. I want you to know that your voices have been heard and I am fully committed to improving your experience and ensuring that you feel connected to the university in a meaningful way. Whether you were here for one year or graduated decades ago, you are Forever Orange, and the Block S Club is here to support you. Block S is your one-stop shop for all things related to Syracuse Athletics specifically designed for former student-athletes to stay engaged and appreciated as a member of the Syracuse family. Together, we are stronger, and together, we are Forever Orange.
Sincerely,
Associate Director of Development, Former Student-Athlete Engagement
