What is the Block S Club?
The Block S Club is the new official community for all former Syracuse University varsity student-athletes. Anyone who has proudly worn the iconic 'Block S' for Syracuse is automatically part of this exclusive community—a group with a common thread that binds everyone together: a shared experience competing as a student-athlete for Syracuse.Formerly known as the Syracuse Varsity Club and founded in 1934 by George Bond, Esq, the Block S Club is comprised of former student-athletes who competed in a varsity sport for at least one season at Syracuse University, including student-athletes of current and discontinued sports, cheer, dance, Ottos, and student managers. Special thanks to the Former Officers and Board of Directors of the Syracuse Varsity Club, that helped pave the way for the Block S Club to become what it is today and what it will become in years to follow.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Block S is to foster a community where former student-athletes feel supported, appreciated, and connected to one another long after they leave the university.Through quarterly newsletter updates, exclusive engagement opportunities, and more, the Block S Club ensures that your connection to Syracuse remains strong, wherever life takes you.Â
