The BIG EAST Conference sponsored a women’s rowing regatta for the eighth time in 2008. The first four conference regattas (2001 through 2004) were “challenges” with the event being conducted as a championship for the first time in 2005. Eight conference schools participated in the initial championship on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
