Lachlan Doust '25 to Represent Australia at World Rowing Cup I

Syracuse alum Lachlan Doust '25 is heading to Varese, Italy, this weekend for World Rowing Cup I. The recent Syracuse University grad will represent Australia as the 3-seat in the men's eight. Doust previously represented Australia in the 2023 U23 World Rowing Championships, placing fourth in the men's eight.
Doust was a staple in Syracuse's Varsity 8 during his time with the Orange. He helped Syracuse to four-straight IRA Grand Finals, a bronze medal at the 2023 Eastern Sprints, and was a member of the SU crew that won the 2022 Head of the Charles Regatta.
He was selected as one of 35 rowers for the IRCA Athletes to Watch List prior to his senior campaign. Doust served as team captain for two seasons, including his this past season that saw the Orange earn a program best finish at the IRA Regatta (6th) while placing all four boats in the Grand Finals for the first time since the IRA adapted to its current model.
Racing at World Rowing Cup I begins Friday, June 13, with preliminary heats. Australia will line up with Italy 1, Italy 2, Great Britain, China and Germany at 10:04 a.m.
The World Rowing Cup I will be held June 13-15 on Lake Varese, located 55km north of Milan in the northern part of Italy. For more on World Rowing Cup Regattas, visit worldrowing.com.
