
Six SU Soccer Stars Earn CSC Academic All-District

Six members of the 2024 Syracuse women's soccer team have been named to the Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
The six Syracuse student-athletes include: sophomore Julia Dening, senior Erin Flurey, senior Kylen Grant, senior Ashley Rauch, junior Anna Rupert and junior Ava Uribe.
Dening, a midfielder, is majoring in Health and Exercise Science at Syracuse. She played in 17 matches, started in two contests, and contributed a goal and an assist in 2024.
Grant is majoring Health and Exercise Science. A defender, Grant started all 18 matches and led the Orange in minutes played (1,611).
Flurey tied for team scoring honors with five goals, had an assist, and started all 18 contests. She is majoring with Biology.Â
Rauch, a Finance major, also contributed five goals and one assist this fall. She started each of the 17 matches she played in.
Rupert is majoring in Economics. She made nine starts and played in 18 matches. Rupert had a goal and two assists.
Uribe, who missed all of last season with an injury, returned to the pitch in 2024 and posted two goals and four assists. She started all 17 of the matches she competed in. Uribe is majoring in sport management.
To qualify for the recognition, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and meet high athletic standards. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Transfer student-athletes are eligible as long as their cumulative grade-point-average (combined from the two schools) meet the 3.50 requirement.
Soccer student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games player or must have started in at least 66 percent of the team's matches.
