SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange won itheir second match of the Hail State Invitational with a four-set victory over Jackson State. The Orange (10-1 overall) had 58 kills and a .358 hitting percentage in the win. The last time the Orange recorded 10 wins before conference play began was in 2010 under head coach Jing Pu.

"It was messy, but a win is a win," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "Jackson State played what I thought was their best match of the season. We had underestimated them and that was clear in the first set. Even after set one we seemed a little off our tempo. Every win is important, but that felt like a close call."

The Orange lost the first set to the Lady Tigers, 25-20 and then came back to win set two, 25-21. Syracuse then took the third set, 25-12, and the fourth, 25-19, to win the match, 3-1.

Of Note:

The Orange's .358 hitting percentage was a four-set season high, and five players recorded above .300 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Naomi Franco recorded 11 kills and a .391 hitting percentage.
Junior Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk posted a .400 hitting percentage and four block assists.
