Orange Earn ACC Honor Roll Accolades

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three Syracuse University student-athletes have been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Honor Roll for the fifth consecutive year. Colin Bennie (cross country/track & field), Taylor Gait (lacrosse) and Matt Lane (lacrosse) highlight the list of 256 members of the Orange to earn the accolade for the 2017-18 academic year.

In addition to the trio of five-time honorees, 19 student-athletes made their fourth career appearance on the ACC Honor Roll. That group includes Courtney Brosnan (soccer), Samuel Busco (rowing), Pat Castle (soccer), Marcus Cunningham (lacrosse), Michael Glaude Jr. (rowing), Stephanie Grossi (ice hockey), Laura Hurff (field hockey), Haley Jones (rowing), Matt Keller (football), Nicole Mitchell (tennis), Alana O'Neill (soccer), Sydney Rodriguez (rowing), Belle Sand (volleyball), Dominic Santora Jr. (rowing), Sheridan Street (soccer), Tia Thevenin (track & field), Christina Tobias (rowing), Kelzi Van Atta (lacrosse) and Jessica Vigna (soccer).

Academic highlights for Syracuse during 2017-18 feature 11 teams with a perfect 1,000 APR single-year scores. Hurff earned NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship distinction, while Paige Stoner earned the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award for cross country and outdoor track & field. In addition, Stoner and Hendrik Hilpert (soccer) earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.

The ACC Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 4,650 student-athletes.
