
Tooker, Thevenin Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Aidan Tooker of the men's track and field team and Tia Thevenin of the women's track and field team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
Tooker is a freshman communications and rhetorical studies major in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. He is an active member of the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
The Saratoga Springs, New York native will compete in the NCAA 3000-meter steeplechase beginning on June 7 in Eugene, Oregon. Tooker qualified for the event after turning in a personal-best time of 8:39.34 in the NCAA East preliminary in Lexington, Kentucky. The semifinals will air on ESPNU.
Thevenin is a junior psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences with a minor in entrepreneurship in the Whitman School of Management. She is the Vice President of Student Life for Syracuse SAAC.
The Ajax, Ontario native will compete in the 100-meter hurdles on June 8 in Eugene. Thevenin qualified for the first time in her career after registering a career-best mark in the preliminary in Lexington. The event will air on ESPN2.
