
Chomicki, Young Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Chris Chomicki of the spirit squad and Isis Young of the women's basketball team are this week's Syracuse Scholar-Athletes of the Week.
A junior from East Quogue, N.Y., Chomicki is pursuing a bachelor's degree in information management and technology with minors in computer science and global enterprise. Outside of athletics, Chomicki has served as a part-time web developer for SIDEARM Sports and a computer consultant for the Syracuse University Information Technology Services. He is an active member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Chomicki has been a member of the Syracuse spirit squad since 2016 and has devoted hours of time towards training, travel and game coverage.
A redshirt-junior from Berlin, N.J., Young is majoring in communications and rhetorical studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Young qualified for the ACC Academic Honor Roll in the 2016-17 academic year and is a two-time member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
After sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules, Young has appeared in all eight games this year for the Orange, averaging 9.3 points. She has posted double-digit scoring in four contests this year, including a season-high 13 points in the season-opening victory over Morgan State.
Young and the women's basketball team host a pair of home contests against Colgate and Drexel on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m., respectively. Both games will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
