
Lovell, Litovsky Named Scholar-Athletes of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Â Junior Paul Lovell of the Syracuse men's track and field team and senior Ariel Litovsky of the women's rowing team are this week's Orange Scholar Athletes of the Week.
Lovell majors in biotechnology while minoring in forensic science in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Stow, Ohio native most recently competed in the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational, placing sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.20. In early March, Lovell set a personal best at the ECAC Championships, crossing the finish line of the 800 meter with a time of 1:53.03, which was good enough for 19th place.
Litovsky majors in public relations while minoring in marketing in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. The Yardley, Pa. native recently coxed the third varsity eight crew team to a victory over No. 3 Ohio State and Michigan State. Syracuse covered the 2,000-meter course in 6:42.0, defeating Michigan State by more than six secondsÂ
The Orange track and field team will compete at the historical Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. from Thursday, Apr. 28 to Saturday, Apr. 30.
With the completion of the regular season, Litovsky and the Syracuse women's rowing team are preparing for the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship in Clemson, S.C. Racing will begin on Lake Hartwell on Friday, May 13.
