The Orange men's and women's teams have taken Syracuse Athletics to new heights in 2012-13 and it's time to celebrate their achievements! The student-athletes, coaches and staff will gather for the seventh annual 'Cuse Awards on Monday, April 29 at the Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center on the SU campus. The awards show will begin at 8 p.m. and will be televised by Time Warner Sports Cable and online, free on Orange All-Access.
The annual event celebrates the past year in Syracuse University Athletics and honors Orange student-athletes for their accomplishments on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. This year's presenters include Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Orange All-American and best-selling author Tim Green.
Established in 2007 by Syracuse University Athletic Director Dr. Daryl Gross, the 'Cuse Awards celebrate the successes of all Orange student-athletes, including the presentation of the awards for Athletes, Rookie and Coach of the Year, the Soladay Awards, Team, Performance, Play, Game and Shot and of the Year, Most Improved Team, the Ernie Davis Courage Award, and each individual team's 'Cuse Award winner. The 'Cuse Awards will also honor first team All-Americans, Academic All-Americans, the team with the highest collective grade point average, the most points in the NACDA Director's Cup, and the team that has done the most community engagement.
