GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse volleyball sophomore Silvi Uattara is one of nine student-athletes voted to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The award is Uattara's second all-conference recognition after being selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2012 as a freshman.
Uattara was SU's leading attacker this season, posting 3.60 kills per set, which ranked sixth in the ACC. In league-only play, Uattara raised that average to 3.92 kills per set, good for third highest. Her 425 kills during the 2013 campaign represented the 10th most in a single season at Syracuse. Additionally, the outside hitter finished second on the team in service aces (26) and hitting percentage (.278), and was third in digs per set (1.80).
In 24-of-31 matches this year, Uattara reached double-figure kills, including a streak of 13 consecutive contests. She wound up second on the squad with eight double-doubles during the campaign - three of them coming in the last four outings.
ACC champion Duke led the way with five student-athletes on the three-team all-conference ballot including Player of the Year Emily Sklar and Defensive Player of the Year Ali McCurdy. In total, Syracuse was one of 11 teams represented on the All-ACC Team.
